Data Engineer

The Data Engineer is tasked with designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and data products critical to business functions. You will collaborate closely with traders, quantitative, market, and risk analysts, and other engineers to ensure reliable, performant data systems, and contribute to shaping the overall data strategy.

Main Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and databases for data processing, analysis, and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business goals.
• Prioritize activities effectively.
• Improve ergonomics and functionality of internal data models.
• Expand collection of public market and fundamental data.
• Identify and clean incomplete, incorrect, or inaccurate data.
• Operate in a rapid, iterative environment relying on effective communication with business users.
• Develop data products including dashboards, reports, advanced analytics, and data management tools.
• Provide advice and support to business users regarding data and tool ecosystems.

Profile

• Higher education in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with data integration tools, ETL frameworks, and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Dagster.
• Strong skills in RDBMS architecture, design, SQL querying/optimization, and data warehousing methodologies.
• Expertise in Python programming with libraries/frameworks like Pandas, NumPy.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and related data storage, processing, and analytics services.
• Experience authoring reports and dashboards using open source or commercial products (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Plot.ly, matplotlib).

• Office products expertise: MS Excel (VBA, pivot tables, PowerQuery), MS Word.

• Excellent oral and written English; French is a plus.

• Knowledge of distributed computing frameworks like Spark, Snowflake, and handling large datasets.

• Familiarity with time-series databases and real-time data processing.

• Master data management, referential data management, and data quality assurance.

• Experience in energy trading or financial services is a plus.
