GT Automation & Control Engineer

Strengthen our team in Switzerland (Baden) with your expertise & experience as our GT Automation & Control Engineer.

Scope of work:

• Control system hardware, electrical power sub-distribution systems, instrumentation solutions, and dedicated protection/monitoring systems for heavy duty gas turbines.
• Engineering and project execution in close cooperation with suppliers.

Your tasks:

• Define technical requirements for control system hardware and electrical power sub-distribution apparatus for the GT and auxiliary systems.
• Determine control system and bus network architectures.
• Design electrical power sub-distribution panels.
• Define instrumentation solutions for temperature, pressure, level, flow measurement, and fuel gas composition.
• Design I&C and low voltage power loops (sensors, cabling & shielding, junction boxes) for field instrumentation, drives and actuators.
• Specify and configure monitoring systems and sensors (bearings vibration, combustor flame, pulsations, shaft speed).
• Customize automation and control system scope according to Client’s requirements.
• Prepare technical purchase specifications.
• Monitor suppliers for compliance.
• Accompany factory acceptance tests.
• Support site erection, commissioning, and hand-over to after-sales service.

Your profile:

• Degree in Electrical/Automation Engineering.
• Experience in design & project execution of automation systems in power or process plant engineering.
• Familiarity with LV Directive (2014/35/EU), LV switchgears (IEC 61439), EMC Directive (2014/30/EU), Explosive Atmospheres (IEC 60079); Functional Safety (IEC 61508) is a plus.
• Good knowledge of engineering tools for electrical & process automation (preferably EPLAN).
• Strong commitment to quality, time and cost targets.
• Critical thinking, problem solving & analytical skills.
• Team player.
• Excellent English; German advantageous; Italian an asset.
