Design and analyse mechanical structures for next-gen high-temperature superconducting systems at CERN.
Company Description:
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature.
Job Description/Introduction:
Are you a Mechanical Engineer eager to work at the forefront of cutting-edge technology? Join one of the world's largest teams of superconducting specialists and help shape the future of high-temperature superconducting systems for particle accelerators - and beyond.
At CERN, you will be part of the Technology Department (TE), responsible for developing the core technologies that power today's and tomorrow's accelerators. Within TE, you will join the Magnets, Superconductors and Cryostats Group (TE-MSC) - the team behind the design, construction and testing of both superconducting and normal conducting magnets, cryostats, and superconducting materials.
More specifically, you will work in the High Temperature Superconductors and Devices Section (TE-MSC-HSD), contributing to the modelling, construction, and qualification of mechanical structures for next-generation superconducting systems.
If you're passionate about applied mechanics, precision engineering and high-impact science - this is your chance to take part!
