Define and optimize reliability strategies for CERN's future particle accelerators using engineering expertise.
Experience required in reliability engineering and data acquisition and analysis. Desired experience includes operation and protection of particle accelerators and design of highly dependable systems.
Master's degree or PhD or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, systems engineering, physics, or related field with focus on reliability engineering or systems modeling.
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers study the fundamental structure of the universe using the world's largest scientific instruments. This role supports the design of CERN's next-generation particle accelerator, the Future Circular Collider (FCC).
You will apply expertise in availability simulations to identify critical subsystems, propose mitigation strategies, and help achieve ambitious physics goals. Joining the Machine Protection and Electrical Integrity (MPE) Group within CERN's Technology Department, you will work on accelerator protection systems and reliability engineering.
